Errol’s Classic Vehicle Auction, this Saturday 24th, at Errol Airfield brings a close to 2018’s Classic Auctions at Morris Leslie and they are finishing the year on a high with well over 200 great entries to choose from. As always there is great diversity in the lots, from Fast Fords and BMWs to a beautiful selection of truly vintage cars.
All of the Classic entries have their own interesting stories including a 1983 Cadillac Fleetwood Silver Hawk first registered to non-other than the singer Engelbert Humperdinck! For those of you with more modern tastes in music, Mr Humperdinck sold over 150 million records including “Release Me” and “The Last Waltz”. With a guide price of just £3,000 – £4,000 one lucky bidder will be driving away a unique piece of music memorabilia.
Moving to the headliners and there are some real stand out lots for both audiences in the hall and online. A rare 1950 Alvis TB 14 (guide price £45,000 to £50,000) is one of only 100 ever produced and has been subject to an extensive restoration in the past 10 years.
The auction will also feature some real race pedigree with a 1979 Fiat X1/9, this modified Fiat has a full race specification and was unbeaten in its class all season winning the Scottish Motor Racing Club Classic class and championship. It is also a lap record holder (60.4s) on Yokohama 048 and was built from a solid media blasted bare shell in early 2016 that started as a standard road car. Guide price £22,000 to £25,000.
With these and more than 200 entries going under the hammer, such as a fully restored 1953 Land Rover 80”, a one-off example of 1972 Ford Escort and a superb 1934 Morgan Super Sports, today is going to be an action packed day for all. The auction kicks off at 11am, at Morris Leslie Vehicle Auctions, Errol Airfield, Errol, Perthshire, PH2 7TB.
