An avid collector of MGs has chosen Morris Leslie’s upcoming Classic Auction in May to sell his fabulous collection of MGs. The four MGs selected for auction, have been in his ownership between 12 and 25 years and are fabulous examples of the respective models being a 1960 MG A, 1975 MG B GT V8, a 1952 MG TD Midget and lastly, a 2002 MG TF for the modern classic market.
The MG A’s curvaceous form is perfectly showcased in this 1960 MKII Roadster which is resplendent in red. In 1959 the popular MG A received an upgraded engine of 1,588cc. Of the 31,501 examples produced in less than 3 years of manufacturing, only 1800 were still registered in the UK in 2018. With an enthusiastic following and a modest guide price of £18,000 to £22,000, this MG A is certain to generate a lot of interest from potential buyers.
Offered along with the MG A, will be the 1975 MG B GT V8, the 1952 MG TD Midget and the 2002 MG TF, with all examples expected to achieve their higher estimates. The MG TD Midget having been with the owner for almost 25 years and, according to the documented history, appears to be one of the Limited Edition TD MKII’s. This example’s engine turns over, but at present does not fire, making it the ideal project for any classic car enthusiast.
