Perthshire based Morris Leslie, have purchased the prestigious former Edrington building (locally known as the Famous Grouse building) at West Kinfauns, creating a new business centre for local companies looking to expand or organisations considering relocating.
Designed and constructed to an exceptional specification, the building is due to be ready for its first occupants, Morris Leslie Head Office staff, at the start of June. The rest of the flexible office space and conference facilities, including an auditorium with state of the art technology, will be available to the rental market.
According to Morris Leslie’s Group Operations Director, Graham Ogilvie, “The local area has a scarcity of really high quality office space and this building will offer companies a range of flexible spaces, within its overall 30,000 sq ft footprint. We expect the office space to be highly sought after with the building’s unique history, fabulous setting and modern interiors, by both local companies looking for an upgrade on their current offices and businesses based further afield looking to relocate to capitalise on Perth and Dundee’s improving economic standing.”
The site benefits from excellent road and rail connections, being less than 5 minutes drive from Perth city centre, an hour from both Edinburgh and Glasgow and within 90 minutes of Aberdeen. The business centre provides ample parking space and excellent onsite catering facilities, as well as a potential opportunity for local restauranteurs.
It is believed that when it was built in 1998 by Highland Distillers, the building, now to be named Caledonian House, was the most expensive office block in all of Scotland.
Morris Leslie, the Group’s Managing Director explains why the building has been given that name, “This site was formerly the home of Caledonian Tractors , the most northerly CAT dealer in UK and of course Caledonian is the old Latin word for Scotland and relates well to our rich heritage as a Scottish company operating independently since 1974 in the plant hire and sales industry. We are delighted to be able to extend our property portfolio with such a fantastic building and look forward to relocating our team to what is a befitting home for our national and global operations ”
